When I first saw the announcement for tonight’s Port City show, I hadn’t yet heard of Fitz and The Tantrums. The name and imagery was convincing enough to send me searching, and what I found was intriguing. It’s soul music (new-soul? neo-soul? post-soul?) and the jams are hot, just sitting here listening to them on headphones I already want to dance. When the Time & Temp building is up there informing us that it’s colder than, well, anything, the only solution is to get out there and move. I know there are plenty of tickets left, so go get one and join us all on the dance floor tonight. Portland local Dean Ford opens.
