Dean Ford (+ The Goodnight Process) Played Port City, Sea Level CD Release Saturday

On Monday, January 24, Portland’s Dean Ford had the challenge of opening the show at Port CIty Music Hall for Fitz & the Tantrums. Sharing a bit of the headlining act’s sense of style but only a small dose of their performance and stage presence, Ford played a strong set with the support of some of his former bandmates from The Goodnight Process. Things stayed a little too close to your standard rock show to really get the crowd – who were largely there to dance their faces off, apparently – to do too much moving but the band plowed through and Dean Ford demonstrated a lot of potential to be a great rock ‘n roll frontman.

Speaking of frontmen, one of the members of the aforementioned band will be stepping out on his own this weekend. Dan Capaldi (who also plays drums in Holy Boys Danger Club) debuts his new project, Sea Level, with a CD release party for the Anjuli EP at Empire Dine & Dance (which happens to be a night with a lot going on – Robyn @ State, Waranimal @ SPACE, Reggae @ Port City, Gem Club @ the Oak + the Ax, and the Pubcrawlers @ Geno’s really makes something for every sort of music fan that night!) Stream and purchase Anjuli at Bandcamp or below.
