Slippery Sunday, What To Do Tonight

What, did you think that just because it’s Sunday and a soggy day that you get to stay in for the night? Think again. Two shows in the Arts District are sure to get the crowds out. Port City has Trampled By Turtles (whose name we just can’t get past, but they do seem quite popular) with the excellent Spirit Family Reunion opening.

If you prefer a little more indie pop with your folk, down the street at SPACE Gallery is a triple bill of some of our favorite bands, all of whom have a knack for putting a big smile on audiences’ faces. Pearl and the Beard have become a Portland staple over the last few years, and You Won’t have made a number of trips up to the area from Massachussetts, but Brooklyn’s Lucius are new to Maine, and definitely worth checking out. (Unfortunately we just heard that Lucius won’t be able to play due to sickness). Watch the BreakThru Radio videos below to get a preview of what’s in store for tonight.
