“Sun Worship” Music Series Announces Seventh Installment, in Celebration of this Year’s Winter Solstice
Quarterly Improvisational Music Series Features Five Performers, Live Improvised Video Artist, and Collaborative Art Installation
Kittery, ME, November 29, 2010: “Sun Worship,” a quarterly improvised music series celebrating regional sound artists, musicians and the change of seasons will hold its seventh installment at Buoy Gallery, on Saturday, December 18 at 8pm. The event is free and open to the public, but donations are encouraged and will be taken at the door. Buoy Gallery is located at 2 Government Street, in Kittery, Maine.

Five musical acts will be appearing, making music in celebration of this year’s winter solstice. Called by the Boston Phoenix an “all-star kitchen-sink freak out,” Jamaica Plain’s Peace, Loving will be coming north to perform. Sharing the stage with them will be sound art veterans and hosts of Somersworth’s “Open Sound” series, Lou Bunk and Lou Cohen, performing as 2Lous; the long-standing Maine-based group of free improvisers, jazz and sound collaborators, Mystic Out Bop Review; Loup-Garou, featuring Walter Wright from Lowell, Massachusetts’s 119 Gallery; and Kittery’s own, Offset Needle Radius.

Performing alongside the music will be Greg Kowalski, formerly of Qfwfq Duo, who will be manipulating video projections in real time. In addition, this season’s installment will feature the debut of an installation/space alteration/inanimate collaboration by artists Josh Baker, Peter Donovan, Al Mead, and Greg Kowalski.
