The other day I noticed that the confusion-inducing Awful Annie’s sign above 189 Congress Street has finally been replaced with the bar’s current name: Mama’s Crow Bar. This is great news, as it’s been difficult to make sure that people know what bar you’re talking about, depending on the name they know it by (for a minute it was Typewriter Tavern as well). Anyway, now that the name is all sorted out, you can just tell all your friends to meet you at Mama’s Crow Bar.
A fine time to do that would be on Tuesday, May 18 for the second installment of the Scratchpad Reading Series, for which the lineup has just been announced, and includes Natalya Fedorova MacWilliams, Jefferson Navicky, and the elusive Chris Gray. After this event, the series will be moving to a quarterly schedule, so if you miss this you won’t get another chance at Scratchpaddery until August! Check out photos from the first event here.
