Portland Downtown Boys date announced — wait, Portland Downtown Boys date announced?!

 

Pardon our excitement, but it’s been over two years since Rhode Island’s Downtown Boys came to Portland. The group (which features members of the What Cheer? Brigade) played an extremely intimate show at Flask with Rattlesnakes side-project Fur, and the (currently dormant) trio The Outfits.

To say that show was life-altering would be an understatement. From their near-religious stage presence, to actually being one of the only groups we’ve ever seen pull of a cover of “Dancing In The Dark,” it was a phenomenal night.

And guess what was just announced earlier today? The Downtown Boys are moving up the Portland-venue bracket and will be playing SPACE on Friday, May 29. Supporting the six-piece love punks will be two Portland bands — Lunch Cult and the fresh-faced punk trio Bad Leg.

You should buy tickets now, they are only $8 (slightly more than that six pack of Tecate you just bought) —  and we personally promise you won’t regret this life-changing experience.
