State Theatre News Coming Soon!

With word that the State Theatre will be announcing this Fall’s first concerts (beyond the Guster and Michael Franti) tomorrow morning, it’s got us wondering what else they have in store. Any guesses?

Bonus: tune in to WMPG tomorrow just before 8AM and you might get to be the first to hear the news!

given who’s out and about, i feel like broken social scene makes sense, as does the hold steady – they’re sort of a no-brainer given that they’re in boston in early oct. i’d be thrilled by robyn, though i think that’s a bit of a longshot. same for the national. the xx and caribou, maybe. one of the mauses, modest or more probably dead.

i cannot express how excited i am that we’re even having this conversation, and that these names seem reasonable.

  • Hanson. I mean, seriously.

upcoming broken social scene tour already has 4 new england shows, dont think they have the demand to add another, especially in maine of all places. fingers crossed for the future though.

jimmy eat world has a new album out in september, surely will be a tour to support that, and they have headlined the state twice in the past.

every time i die are touring in nov/dec, but the state might be a little bit too big for them, unless they got a strong tour package together.
