WPB: Electronic Music Festival This Week

This week, local electronic music collective We Push Buttons is taking over the whole city, with a slew of shows across many of the venues in town showcasing the different labels and genres that they represent. Check out the full schedule below (descriptions courtesy WPB, as of 9/21 but subject to change) – please note that these events do not appear in the regular show listings, so refer to this post for reference and any updates!:
Wednesday, 9/23
9pm @ Slainte | Moshe’s Birthday Party [Free]
Dubstep night featuring performances by Moshe, Moldy, Jonek@t, Elusid, and 32french. Vocal stylings by Josiah Scribes and visuals by VJ Foo!
9pm @ The Big Easy | Hip Hop Open Mic Special Presentation [$5]
Each and every Wednesday at the Big Easy is Hip Hop Open Mic Night. To help kick off the WPB:EMF, HHOM hosts Sandbag throw a special show featuring performances by Educated Advocates, Luch & Eliza, Labseven, Slouch & Adam B. After the showcases will be open mic until last call featuring live beats straight out the samplers from Shupe and Slouch & Adam. B.

9pm @ Bubba’s | Zodiac Party Revisited [$3]
Zodiac Party Revisited! A reunion of Zodiac Party proportions! Marcus Caine, Atomik, and Todd the Rocket form like Voltron for a sets of funky dancefloor-tuned house with live percussion. A rare occasion. And, of course, Libras get in for free!
9pm @ The White Heart | Beltek Presents [Free]
Join Beltek Festival founders special guests as they bring their party to Portland, continuing their celebration of another blockbuster festival year! Psydways, Seratto, KTF Terison.

9pm @ Empire | Dance Party with Sammy Bananas, popgirl23 and Miss Fairchild [$5]
Sammy Bananas (Fool’s Gold Records) returns to Portland after traveling the entire globe, having shared stages with anyone who’s anyone in the world-class tier. Joined by one of Portland’s most skilled DJ talents and an architect of underground party culture in this state, popgirl23. Miss Fairchild just added as special guests, reuniting with Sammy Bananas for the first time on over a year!
