The night was dominated by Joel Plaskett who took home six ECMAs in total but In-Flight Safety was one of only 5 multiple award winner which made the night that much more sweet. Because the band did not write any proper speeches they would like to make good on any ommissions during their impromptu speech and thank: FACTOR for all their support and funding, Music NS for the same, Matt Charlton, Jim Cunningham, Pat Deighan, Dave Casey, Laurence Currie, Paul Gourlie, Adam Sylvester, Chris McCluskey, Cara Heath, our families of course, and our lovely partners. Dan Blakeslee’s live performances are wondrous. Similar to a beekeeper that spells smoke upon the colony before gathering honey, he rouses audiences with wit before subsequently throttling them with his deeply engaging voice and well-thought lyrics. He is unafraid to bare his very soul, emptying a loaded cache of emotion and passion onto the stage for all to witness, explore and devour. His conviction and love for life itself alone makes him impossible to ignore. Dana Gross and his band will perform. Drawing on the wealth of music stored in the hills of Appalachia and the Mississippi Delta, and based out of Portland, Maine, Dana Gross creates lyrical songs rich in earth imagery, heart, and struggle. Performing since the tender age of 12, Dana has refined his intention and ability, entertaining crowds from Maine to Kentucky, and most places in between. Bringing the roots to life, and creating new shoots, D. Gross crafts modern music for the ages… Dana Gross has a new 11 song, all original album slated for release on Sept. 21st.
