This is the first of a three-part series of posts covering the Nateva Music & Camping Festival in Oxford, Maine July 2-4.
Following the massive success of their winter local music series, TWO, Port City Music Hall is at it again with another slew of $2 shows on Tuesday nights (mostly), which kicked off last night with what looked to be a packed house (I only saw in passing, on my way to what turned out to be a sold out Clash Of The Titans at Empire – congrats to the Talking Heads Band!). Check out the full lineup for TWO V2.2: April 27: ATHAME + DEAD SEASON Two shows that are a bit of a change of pace were announced for Port City Music Hall today: Against Me! (pictured above in Brooklyn) on 4/28 and Isis (with Cave In) on 6/22! This is probably just the beginning, as we get closer to summer and more national acts confirm tours that bring them through our city. Keep an eye on the showlist for new show announcements all the time. Kino Proby‘s annual Portland concert happened at Port City Music Hall on Friday, January 8, 2010. Photos by Bryan Bruchman. Due to some apparent miscommunication, it turned out that Annuals weren’t actually scheduled to open for Company Of Thieves at Port City Music Hall on Monday, December 14th. Any disappointment was quickly washed away by the headliner’s energetic performance, as they might as well have been performing to a crowd of thousands, despite a small turnout and lack of an opener (though their keyboardist helped to fill the time by playing a solo opening set). Having only briefly heard a couple of songs from this band before the show, I was quickly and thoroughly impressed by their songs and performance. To get caught up, check out this video from the band’s TV debut. Read on for (lots of) photos! Neko Case played a great set to an enthusiastic (and very, very warm) sold out crowd last night at Port City Music Hall. Opener Lucy Wainwright Roche – joined by Neko collaborator Kelly Hogan for part of the set – got the crowd warmed up with amusing banter between songs (for the record, I enjoyed the new song about Coney Island).
