Thanks again to DJ Roy (pictured above, enjoying a celebratory cupcake) for his show Liberation By Sound on WMPG, which has done a great job supporting the local music scene, bringing exciting new music to the airwaves of Portland, and been huge in helping to get the word out about this very website (primarily by broadcasting the HillyTown showlistings and bringing me in for a number of interviews and guest spots). Today was the final (for now, possibly forever) installment of the show on Tuesdays from 3-5pm. Whatever form the show takes in the future, we wish you luck!
Thank you Hillytown! I’m psyched about how the Portland music scene is catapulting forward -in no small part thanks to you. I’m on to some more celebratory whiskey. Congrats on getting the CMJ/Portland showcase together > good luck yo!

LBS was the best show on MPG, and I’m sad to see it go. It was a real pleasure guest-DJing with Roy two times this year.
