Our friends at MENSK have put together a full day of Earth Day celebration in Monument Square. If you’re looking for music, MAMM will be providing live music beginning at noon, followed by speakers and other performances through the day.
Looking for something a bit more on the nighttime side of things? You can still catch Killer Joe at SPACE (check out this cool video of the set being built!) even before heading out to a rock show (if that’s your thing, and if you’re reading this, it probably is, right?). There’s the coin-toss-for-set-times bill of Grand Hotel/Dead Man’s Clothes/Sunset Hearts at Empire, Jose Ayerve (whose new solo project we’re excited about)/The Grownup Noise at Slainte, By Blood Alone’s cd release party at Geno’s, Caravan of Thieves/Over A Cardboard Sea (as a duo) at OLS, and Group Hug at Big Easy! That seems to cover just about all our musical bases. Of course, if you’re trying to save your pennies, we suggest you hang onto them until tomorrow night, and come to our big show at One Longfellow Square, featuring Milagres (Kill Rock Stars), The Milkman’s Union (locals who have caught our ears as well as others‘), and Husband & Wife (a band from Indiana who we think may take you by surprise).
