In the middle of a busy holiday weekend of shows in Portland, legendary Boston punk band Mission Of Burma came up once again to try out some new songs at SPACE Gallery. This time around, the band didn’t have sound engineer/loopist Bob Weston in tow, so drummer Peter Prescott handled the looping duties and other sound effects from behind his kit. The band – and fans – were referring to this incarnation of the band as a trio as Burma ’79. Once again, the band proved that not only do they still have the magic and intensity that they did in the early ’80’s, but they’ve grown so much in the last decade that they’ve been active (moreso than the first time around). Local trio Haru Bangs opened with a fittingly loud set. Read on for photos and videos from the show!
