Record junkies, vinyl fanatics, and free music fans, your time is coming. This Saturday, April 17, marks the 4th annual Record Store Day, the concept conceived by Bull Moose Music’s own Chris Brown to celebrate independent record stores. Check out the video below to get a preview of some of the exclusive releases that will be available just for this special occasion.
Find all participating stores in Maine (including any free performances they’ll be having) right here. Here are a few choice events for Saturday:
- Maine’s most-talked-about rapper from Wells, Spose, will have teenage girls screaming at Bull Moose in Portland.
- Grace Potter And the Nocturnals will be joined by Anais Mitchell at the Scarborough Bull Moose.
- A slew of locals including Covered In Bees, Marie Stella, Jakob Battick – who I reviewed for The Phoenix this week, An Evening With, and more will be at Newbury Comics in Portland (for some reason not listed on the official RSD site, but I assure you, it is happening).
See you out there, and remember to get to your favorite store super early if you want to get your hands on one of those limited edition releases – stores only get a few copies (if any) of each of them and they go fast!
