Billy Carroll (MECA Holiday Sale)

Who Billy Carroll (MECA Holiday Sale) When Saturday, December 5, 2009 10:00am – free – All Ages Where Maine College of Art (map) 522 Congress St. Portland, ME, USA 04101 Other InfoMaine College of Art will once again hold their holiday sale in the Porteous Building at 522 Congress Street. Due to campus construction, the sale was held off-site for the past three years. Now that renovations are complete and all studios are located in one building, the event will once again take place in Porteous. The sale provides an opportunity for MECA students, alumni, faculty and staff to sell affordable handmade arts, crafts and gifts for the holiday season. In addition, the College is opening the doors of the department studios to let shoppers meet local artists, get a behind-the-scenes look at the artmaking process, take tours and watch demonstrations. Admission is free.

10am-8pm

* Live music by Billy Carroll, 10am–1pm
* Family Photo Opportunity, 10am–1pm, 2–4pm, 5–7pm
* Guided studio tours, 10:30am, 1:30pm and 3pm
* Student film screenings & storytime for kids in Osher Hall, 12–2pm
* Kids art-making station, cookie decorating. Parents shop while kids play. 10am–12pm, 2–4pm
