HillyTown Presented at The Oak and The Ax [5.14.11]

Saturday night was a busy one for music, with lots of great events happening around Portland, but we headed out of town for some fun at the Oak + the Ax in Biddeford. Miniboone (who played one of our OFFStage shows last year) were up from NYC and joined by the excellent Bangor rock duo, When Particles Collide, plus Theodore Treehouse, who closed out the night. Read on for photos from the whole show, and don’t forget to check out the next HillyTown Presents show this Thursday at Empire as we welcome Project Jenny, Project Jan and Murder Mystery from NYC, along with local favorites Sunset Hearts. Get ready to dance! Read on…

Theodore Treehouse Will Sing For You

Well, let’s clarify. If you contribute $75 or more to the band’s Kickstarter campaign, they’ll record an acoustic song in a recordable greeting card for you. For $1000, they’ll play a house party for you (within a 3-hour drive of Portland). The band has completed the recording of their new album, and this is their way of getting their fans to help finish the process by turning those tasty recordings into a physical cd that you can cram in your stereo (or computer, to turn back into a digital file, but who’s keeping track?). Pledging at one of the lower levels is basically a pre-order for the album, which is totally worth it. Check out their music and then go help them get their record pressed (they only have until October 23 to raise the money).

Theodore Treehouse

Way back on March 30, local buzz band Theodore Treehouse played a live set on WMPG‘s Liberation By Sound (above photo of the band is from after their set). Now you can listen to the podcast of their whole performance right here!

Read on for photos from the band’s show at Geno’s on Thursday, May 13. This was Krissy’s last show with the group before moving out west (word is she’s working on big dreams of rock stardom.)
